From Saturday, February 8, to Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Museum of the City and Territory of Monsummano Terme, discover the exhibition The Treasure of Maria SS. della Fontenuova. History of a Centuries-Old Devotion, curated by Silvia Di Paolo. The exhibition and related initiatives are organized by the Pistoia Museum System – SIMUP.
The exhibition focuses on the treasure of the Church of Maria SS. della Fontenuova, partially displayed at the Museum of the City and Territory. This collection of offerings reflects the deep bond between the sanctuary and its devotees, including gifts from both rulers and common people. Highlights include a grand ducal crown in gold and precious stones, symbolizing the Medici family, as well as modest silver icons and wooden plaques.
Each piece tells a story of faith and a historical connection to the sanctuary, which dates back to June 9, 1573.
The exhibition and its initiatives are supported by the Tuscany Region as part of the 2024 Museum Systems grant.
