SUMMARY:Florilegio Italiano – Artists Invite Artists
DESCRIPTION:Until Sunday\, November 10\, 2024\, the Civic Gallery Mo.C.A. – Montecatini Contemporary Art is hosting an exhibition entirely dedicated to contemporary art: Florilegio Italiano – Artists Invite Artists. This showcase features more than fifty works by renowned Italian and international painters and sculptors who\, in response to the project’s invitation\, have donated their works to the city’s civic gallery. \nThe initiative was born in the winter of 2020 with the beginning of a collaboration between the City Administration and Professors Roberto Giovannelli (former professor at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts and Emeritus Academic of the Arts of Drawing)\, Italo Bressan (former professor at the Albertina Academy and Brera Academy of Fine Arts)\, Andrea Granchi (former professor at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts and President of the School of Painting at the Academy of the Arts of Drawing)\, and Gianfranco Notargiacomo (former professor at the Florence and Rome Academies of Fine Arts). \nOver the years\, the professors have invited other artists to join the Florilegio Italiano project and donate a work of art. More than 50 masters have positively responded to this call\, including Luca Alinari\, Gianni Asdrubali\, Ezio Gribaudo\, Riccardo Guarneri\, Paolo Minoli\, Ugo Nespolo\, and Claudio Olivieri. \nFraming the exhibition\, there will be a series of related events such as the publication of a catalogue\, the creation of a film\, and free guided tours\, also available in foreign languages. \nA major contemporary art exhibition\, the beautiful Art Nouveau face of the spa town\, and the enchanting medieval Tuscan scenery offered by its native village\, Montecatini Alto\, create an unmissable cultural proposal. \nFree admission. \nThe exhibition\, initially scheduled to run until Sunday\, September 15\, has been extended until Sunday\, November 10\, 2024. \nOpening hours\nTue-Fri 10 AM – 12 PM\nSat\, Sun\, and holidays 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM\nMon closed \n\nInfo\nGalleria Civica Mo.C.A. – Montecatini Contemporary Art

SUMMARY:-Òide by Serena Gallorini
DESCRIPTION:At the POMA Liberatutti Foundation in Pescia\, from Thursday\, September 19 to Sunday\, November 10\, 2024\, the exhibition -Òide by photographer Serena Gallorini will take place. \nThe exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday\, September 19\, at 6:30 PM\, in the presence of the artist\, art historian Paolo Vitali (author of the catalog’s critical text)\, honorary president Rita Fantozzi\, president Paolo Trinci\, members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors\, and the curator of the POMA Liberatutti Foundation\, Marta Convalle. \n-Òide is a suffix derived from the Greek -οειδής and means “similar to.” We still find it today in many compound words of Greek origin (such as adenoid\, anthropoid\, rhomboid). The suffix generally indicates a similarity in shape\, appearance\, nature\, or a relation\, analogy\, or affinity with the object it refers to. \nThrough 23 photographic works\, shot in the area of the former Officine Celli in Pescia\, Serena Gallorini takes the viewer into the intimacy and solitude necessary to embark on their own -òide. \nThe exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalog (Italian/English)\, published by the POMA Liberatutti Foundation in the PomArte series. The catalog\, curated by Marta Convalle\, includes a preface by Paolo Trinci\, a critical text by Paolo Vitali\, and a rich iconographic apparatus. The volume will be presented to the public on the day of the exhibition’s inauguration and will be available for purchase at the Foundation or by contacting the office at +39 0572 1770011. \nDetails\nFree admission.\nNo reservation required.\nOpening hours: Wed-Sat 10 AM-12:30 PM and 3:30 PM-10 PM | Sun 10 AM-12:30 PM and 5:30 PM-10 PM \n\nInfo\nFondazione POMA Liberatutti\ninfo@pomaliberatutti.it
